President Obama’s stimulus package includes $7.2 billion devoted to making high-speed internet service available to all Americans.
Many rural sections of the country, especially in Arkansas, are grossly underserved. Several Arkansas organizations applied for broadband stimulus money.
One of the Arkansas firms that applied is Connect Arkansas, a division of the Arkansas Capital Corporation that aims to get Arkansas “up to speed” in terms of high-speed internet availability.
The idea is to “increase jobs, spur investments in technology and infrastructure, and provide long-term economic benefits.”
