NWA techpreneurs, mark your calendars…..your 2010 calendars, that is…..for Friday, Jan. 29.

The University of Arkansas’ Sam Walton College of Business will host its 16th-annual Business Forecast Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers.

The event is coordinated by the college’s Center for Business and Economic Research, and panelists and their topics of discussion will include:

Moderator

Dave Rader, EVP and CFO of Frito Lay, Plano, Texas

International Outlook

Mack McLarty, president, McLarty Associates, Washington, D.C.

National Outlook

Ross C. DeVol, director,  Center for Health Economics, Milken Institute, Santa Monica, Calif.

State and Local Outlook

Kathy Deck, director, UA Center for Business and Economic Research, Fayetteville.

Deck delivered her economic-recovery outlook for 2010 at Tuesday’s Commerce Arkansas business expo in Little Rock.

Not that it was necessary, but in addition to calling for a continued “muted” recovery, Deck further polished her credentials by crunching the numbers and forecasting a 38-13 Hogs win over Sub Carolina on Saturday.

While we’re sure Deck is aware of the account holder’s name on her paycheck, we think she knows her stuff — economic and gridiron.

Admission is $45. Register here.
