The Arkansas Venture Forum has announced its keynote speaker and extended its deadline to apply for the chance to be a presenting company to July 20.
Howard Morgan is a former professor at Penn’s prestigious Wharton School and Moore School. In addition, he has been a visiting professor at Cal Tech and Harvard Business School. He also served as president of Renaissance Technologies in New York, where he supervised VC investments in high-tech firms. And that’s just the CV Cliff Notes.
In other words, unless Jeff Amerine is in attendance, he’ll be the smartest one in the room.
The forum, presented by Arkansas Capital Corporation, will be held Wed., Sept. 15, from The Peabody Little Rock. It will provide “promising Arkansas companies” a chance to show their stuff. A selection committee consisting of corporate, legal and financial professionals will review applications — which, again, can now be submitted through July 20 — and determine which companies will be selected to present by Aug. 1.
Selected companies will be assisted by a team of mentors in preparing a 15-minute pitch presented to the conference.
