NWA Entrepreneurship Alliance Plans Kick-off Meeting

Posted in Business Climate, entrepreneurs, events by mcarter on September 3rd, 2010

The Northwest Arkansas Entrepreneurship Alliance is up and running, and its kick-off meeting is set for Wed., Sept. 15, at the UA’s Walton Business College.

The group’s mission is to help build a thriving entrepreneurial community in that state within a state, Northwest Arkansas, and according to group VP Emile Phaneuf, a Master’s student in political science on the Hill, “turn student ideas into reality.”

The Alliance plans to meet every other Wednesday, and is planning a couple of trips to local startup businesses this fall semester. One of those trips will be to Rogers phenom Rockfish Interactive. In addition, local startups will come to campus to speak to the group. On Sept. 29, the folks from growing Fayetteville e-commerce firm Acumen Holdings will do just that. (Read more about its slacker management here.)

Tentative plans call for the kick-off meeting to, well, kick off, at 5 p.m. on the 15th. And it’ll probably take place in Room 230A of the business school. But that’s tentative. E-mail contact@nwaea.net for more information. Or check back here for more details soon.
