Arkansas Business reports that NanoMech, an Innovate Arkansas client, has purchased the Canadian nano-tech firm Canano and will bring “scores” of high-paying, high-tech jobs to the region.

Arkansas Power Electronics International is one of four startups with University of Arkansas ties set to move into the new Enterprise Center that was dedicated Thursday on the campus of the Arkansas Research & Technology Park in Fayetteville, and it plans to further expand on the park campus.

NanoMech’s announcement this week of a $1 million Department of Energy grant to mass produce its NanoGlide lubricant additive is big news for Arkansas. And Arkansas has the right stuff to keep building success stories like NanoMech, according to its chairman of the board.

The startups involved in the 2010 Arkansas Venture Forum are basking in the event’s afterglow. The Forum, in its seventh year, drew rave reviews from investors and entrepreneurs alike.
